Random Thoughts (Reprinted From Dale's Blog)

* Many of you who know me also know how much I love NASCAR. This past year has been one I have enjoyed very much because of a new radio channel I have been listening to on Sirius radio. The NASCAR channel cranked up this past season on Channel 128. NASCAR talk is available live from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM each day. Rarely do I listen to anything else when I’m in my vehicle. Dave Moody is my favorite and you can hear him from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM weekdays. Be prepared to laugh and be informed if you tune in. The other shows are exceptional too. Marty Snider and David Poole host The Morning Drive from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM and I understand that Chocolate Myers and Steve Post are to host a new show, Tradin’ Paint, from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Also, another favorite of mine, Tony Stewart hosts a live show on Tuesday nights in which he gets the best guests available each week.

* The older I get, the fatter and more out of shape I get. I am thinking about starting an afternoon or early evening exercise program and calling it POOFF. Pounds Off Old Fat Farts sounds like an appropriate name doesn’t it? Heck, I turn 50 in just a few weeks. I qualify. My routine wouldn’t necessarily include anything but exercise. To be honest, I will probably just start out walking. I like to eat too much to quit that. Therefore, dieting would remain optional. Once again, anyone interested in joining me in and around the Tifton area, my email address is dhall@sgasports.net . Drop a line.

* I have about overdosed on football this past week. Thirty-two college bowl games were what we started out with this year. As I write this, only fifteen of those have been played already. Can I take seventeen more? I wonder how many frustrated wives are out there because their husbands have been glued to the TV? My wife has stated more than once that she will be happy when football season is finally over. I bet she isn’t alone.

* Grudgingly, I congratulate the New England Patriots for their perfect regular season. They are by far the best overall pro team. That isn’t to say that they can’t still be beat. They just haven’t been beaten so far. To me, they are fast becoming the Dallas Cowboys of old. I respect them and what they have accomplished. I just don’t like them. Heck, I would even pull for Dallas if they played them. No team should be that good.
